Dow Water and Process Solutions has launched a new design software, water application value engine (WAVE), which integrates multiple technologies into one tool.
The software is designed to integrate three water purification technologies ultra-filtration (UF), reverse osmosis (RO) and ion exchange (IX) into one comprehensive tool.
The company said that the new software is capable of providing accurate water quality and system design models for water and wastewater treatment systems.
Dow Water and Process Solutions programme manager Fabien Creus said: “In the past, Dow has offered single-technology design tools, but we wanted to simplify the multi-technology design process for our customers, ultimately looking to reduce the time needed to design optimised water treatment systems.
“Customers can now set, reset and calculate results all from one tool.”
Combining certain features from Dow’s earlier software models, such as ROSA, WAVE offers true mass balance volumes/flows that reflect changes in density due to temperature, water composition and water compressibility.
It also offers harmonised data for all products and processes as well as improved and consistent algorithms, enhanced case management functionalities and processes.
The WAVE software enables engineers to quickly and accurately design differentiated and optimised solutions at any single place in the water treatment chain.
The software also allows for modelling with the company’s innovations, including Dow IntegraFlux UF modules, Filmtec Fortilife elements and Dowex Marathon resins.
